I love to barbecue as you probably noticed when I posted about crucial BBQ Gear earlier this month. One of the most important things during barbecue is measuring the temperature of the meat or fish you are cooking. I already own a Digoo DG-FT2203 Smart Bluetooth BBQ Thermometer(the little brother if this Digoo device) So it is time to review the Digoo DG-FT2303 and do a little comparison. The Digoo DG-FT2203 bluetooth cooking thermometer will show and alert you exactly when your meat is ready.

Installation and setup in a few steps:

• Insert batteries
• Start the app and click on pair
• It searches for the Digoo and you can see the same information as on the thermometer.
• Mount it on your BBQ as you can see in the picture below

The app for the Digoo DG FT2303 has some extra features:

• Make adjustments fast and simple
• Profiles for setting alerts
• Make pictures of your meat with the current temperature displayed on it

Colors

On the Digoo DG FT2303 you can see the current temperatures and set alert. As you can see below is that 25 degrees Celsius is the current temperature, below that you can see the Alert temperature. When alert temp is reached it colors red, if everything is fine: green. Simple!

Build Quality & Design

Design of the Digoo DG FT2303 is not in Apple or Xiaomi style, but what do you expect from a affordable kitchen barbecue devices like this. So it’s an effective and functional device and not a piece of art. Hence, the quality and durability are more important. Things like battery life, it having a stand so you can read it from your lazy chair, but also two little magnets so you can attach it to your barbecue and it won’t fall of the table are nice features. it can be difficult to read in sunlight because of reflections, but then you can always check the app.

Compared to the DG-FT2203 (little brother)

The app is the same, and buttons are replaced by touch buttons. so here are the differences:

• 2 AA batteries instead of 3x AAA.
• In sun hard to read on the devices itself.
• magnets are not horizontal next to each other but vertikal beneath each other.
• One extra probe.
• More reflections.

The Digoo DG FT2202 is the little brother of this devices and has 2 probes and instead of the touch screen it has buttons.

Verdict

I was already very happy with my Digoo DG FT2203. Firstly, for such a good price you get a very easy to use temperature meter. Besides that it is accurate and stable. And the best of it: you can use it stand alone, but also due the bluetooth 4.0 option with the free app. BBQ without checking temperature is a no go, so this device is a not to have but a needed gadget.

The 2303 has an extra probe and touchscreen but that are also the only real differences. So If you like the design and are in need of an extra probe, the little extra money is worth it.
